Project Overview
St. James’ is a single, stand-alone Academy that sits within the Bromley Catholic Schools Trust. The Bromley Catholic Schools Trust is an Umbrella Trust that has been established to promote and assist in the promotion of education in the London Borough of Bromley. With an occupancy of approximately 420 students from pre-school to year 6, plus staff and visitors safety improvements are key to ensuring ongoing building compliance with new regulations. Carter Group was engaged to become the Principle Contractor to undertake the Electrical and Fire Safety Improvements along with associated works.
Experience
Working closely with our client and third party consultant, Carter Group successfully completed this project with minimal disruption to the school whilst managing COVID-19 restrictions and control measures. Our Project Manager was able to provide key onsite knowledge and experience to provide the full system design proposal, oversee and manage the installation and testing onsite whilst keeping the client updated on program of works by way of regular progress reporting. Fire Alarm
A new fire alarm system was designed and installed in compliance with an L2 system to protect all areas of high risk all carried out to BS5839 regulations.
LED Lighting and Emergency Lighting
A new LED lighting system was designed and installed throughout the school including emergency lighting and illuminated fire exit signage.
Electrical re-wire
These works comprised of an electrical re-wire where the existing installation does not meet the current electrical regulations. Works included mains incoming, mains switch gear, sub main distribution, small power and lighting replacement.
Building Services
Installation of suspended ceilings and redecoration to all areas included within the improvement works carried out.
